How long have you been a Councillor?
Appointed March 2013

Committee membership
Community Development

Areas of special interest and expertise
i) I am keen to be involved in improving communication of village matters and encouraging the engagement of residents, particularly younger members of the village.
ii) As a Chartered Accountant and the owner of a small business, I am keen to see the establishment of a Business Network for Rainford.
iii) I believe the Parish Council should deliver value for money to all residents and maximise the use of the Village Hall.

What inspires you to be a Councillor?
I have lived in Crank since 2000 and am involved in a number of local organisations on a voluntary basis, including via Rainford Parish Church (as Gift Aid Administrator, helping at the Church Shop and with Tots’ Time and Wednesday Welcome Toddler Group), Rainford Boys’ Brigade Parent Group, and as Independent Accounts Examiner for the Rainford Old Folks’ Welfare Treat Committee and Rainford Ladies’ Ecumenical Choir.

I believe being a Parish Councillor is the next step and as a newly elected member I can bring some fresh ideas.

As a working mother of two young girls, I understand the issues that families with young children face.
